On August 28, 2025, our world changed forever. What began as a freak ATV accident that brought our 13-year-old son to the emergency room for what we thought might be a fractured leg turned into something far more serious. Doctors noticed unusual bruising on his arms—initially believed to be from the two and a half weeks he had played football—but a mother’s instinct led me to ask for bloodwork. Those tests revealed a devastating diagnosis: acute myeloid leukemia with megakaryocytic differentiation, including a KMT2A (MLLT10-MLL) rearrangement. Since that day, he has endured an incredibly difficult journey, completing two blocks of chemotherapy and one block of intensification. He is now preparing for a life-saving bone marrow transplant scheduled for January 13, 2026. Once transplant begins, we will be staying at Children’s Hospital in strict isolation for no less than six weeks. In a beautiful miracle, his 10-year-old brother, Jaxon, has been found to be a perfect 12-out-of-12 match and will be his donor. Our family is leaning on hope, faith, and the kindness of others as we continue this fight together.
